Vw polo 9n passenger door wont open with keyfob.

I just got a used VW polo 9n, it is great but when I use the remote keyfob to open the doors, I can open the driver's door but the passenger door has to be unlocked using the central locking button before it can be opened. Is this normal behavior?

Is it a 2 door or 4 door?

The ECU can be programmed to open the driver's door only from the remote fob, although I think that usually 2 presses on the unlock button will unlock the other door(s) and boot.

Does the boot unlock?
