Can someone explain the 1.5 e Tsi engine to me?

Looking at a new golf, it’s got a 1.5 e tsi engine.

Will it drive on electric only ? Or is it just to use as a boost ?
I’ve searched you tube for a video on it but can’t find anything.

Mild hybrid, gives you some assist when accelerating off the line, using energy recovered during braking. Engine is always on.

Pure electric running with an engine you'd need the GTE.

I'm due to collect my new Leon on Tuesday with this engine i'm fairly intrigued to see how it performs to the standard 1.5 150 ps engines.
