Passat woes - Boot lock
Discussion
Well....shut boot Thursday night, go to open on Friday morning and its jammed. So after the passenger door going a few months ago im not having much luck with VW at the moment.
Try emergency switch inside boot, nothing.
So now, I've had to strip the boot trim down to get at the lock.
Took the front cover for the motor/spring off and activated door opening from the key and the spring then came off, so im wondering if something is jammed inside the lock as it just won't budge (a stone?)
So, I've got a lock with the hook section on it!
Anyone got any further suggestions before I angle grind the hook off and order a new one (which tbh is proving difficult).
On a side note its no wonder these locks seem to be going, the motor looks like something you'd get from a model building shop!
