Anyone got any thoughts on this?

With Skoda it's £768 for 24 months, including:
  • 2 years roadside cover
  • Minor and Major service
  • 2 MOTs
  • 2 years warranty (backed by Skoda FS).
In theory it's a decent deal as:

  • AA cover - £125ish a year for the level of cover I have - £250 total
  • Service - minor is £185, major is £300 or so - £485 total
  • MOT - £50 a throw - £100 total
Total - £835. Effectively it's a free warranty. Seems a little too good to be true?

It's good value, for the things listed above.

"All-in" is a misleading phrase, because many models will need other maintenance like Haldex oil, brake fluid etc as part of the service schedule for that car. These are not included.

Yeah. For my Octavia there's no 4wd, so it's only stuff like brake fluid which are missing.

I think I'll probably go for it.

How old is the car?

What mileage are you doing?

Is the servicing time or mileage-driven? If it's mileage and you're doing average or below miles, you won't need a minor and major in 2 years.

It's not a free warranty in a sense that your servicing is covered, but any non-standard service items won't be - brakes, etc

My car is on time based servicing, so annually. 2017 doing anything between 2k a year and 15k a year depending on what's going on.

Yeah, I'd fully expect e.g. brakes to not be covered, similar to how I'd expect any consumables not to be covered on the standard manufacturers warranty.
