I have found a nice 54 reg 1.8 TT, it has 117000miles with good service history.
I’m solely looking for a fun car, I have been looking at MGTF’s but the corrosion issues are always in the back of my mind!
I’ve read that Corrosion on TT’s isn’t so much of an issue but parts can be very pricey!
So what’s the advice? Take a risk or save for a newer lower mileage one?

If it's £1500 buy it, if it's £5000 don't!

Hard to give advice on a car nobody has seen or knows the price of really biggrin

Quattro 225 or 180? or 2WD.

I had 2 Mk1 TTs and loved them, but that was a few years back and they were lower mileage. They are pretty solid cars that look amazing and feel special to sit in. A great GT but not a Sports car IMO.

If you buy that you'll always be wondering about a 225 Quattro. hehe

Seriously though, it's all down to that particular car. I'd imagine by now the ARB & dash binnacle will have been changed.

At that price point it's pay your money & take your chance (as it is on any 2nd hand car to be fair)

A good one will still feel solid. Give it a test drive.
