VW Scirocco 2.0 TSi Service Intervals
Discussion
Hi all,
I wanted to ask what the relavent service items were at each interval for my 2013 2.0 TSi Scirocco. I have had a quick Google but had no luck.
The car has covered a touch over 30k miles. I used to get it serviced at a main dealer so never had to worry about this, but after my experience was soured (following a dent in my door) I switched over to a local mechanic a couple of years ago.
My main question here is what should I expect for my 8 year service? Given the mileage I don't mind doing things "properly" because the car is mostly used for shorter journeys. Because of its age is it worth changing the timing chain/belt and water pump as a bit of preventative maintenance?
Cheers in advance!

If its the same engine as my mk6 GTi (cczb), they are chain driven and not cambelt.
Have well known issues with the chain tensioner, but you might* be okay with a 2013 model. I would seriously advise you to have it checked out at your earliest convenience.
It just cost me £4.5k to rebuild my engine but that's with swapping other bits out at the same time whilst the engine was out.
Apart from that, have it scanned for any issues. They usually have a sensor or two or a few parts that fail here and there. Just gotta keep on top of it all.
Things to check include water pump, coil packs, dv and pcv. Also inlet manifolds can need changing out but youl get a code on a scan for that (p2015 I think).
Apart from that just service it on time, using good quality oil. Also running it on 98+ fuel will defo help.
