Afternoon all,

(Plenty of dirty e based words coming up for those easily offended....)

Our Tesla Model Y is due back in March and whilst I'm happy to simply swap for a Y Performance my wife is less keen. She wants to go back to Audi. Spoke with our lease company earlier (it'll be a company car) and they offered a pretty decent deal on a Q6 e-tron (285kw Quattro 100kwh S Line, Sound & Vision), scheduled for March delivery.

Phoned our local Audi garage who said their Q6 demonstrator is currently unavailable as it's broken and they don't know when it'll be fixed. Great start - the chap could probably do with some sales training. WIll try some garages further afield as with the lead times time is of the essence. In the meantime I thought I'd check in with the collective PH wisdom. Main questions are:

Does anyone have one? Has yours broken?
If so what did you switch from? What alternatives did you consider?
If anyone switched from a Model Y (or Model 3/S/X) are you happy with the choice?
Is there a servicing schedule on them and if so what's the cost like? (I'm used to the zero maintenance Tesla experience).

Many thanks in advance!

I have a Q6 Edition 1, which has a few faults that seem fairly common but should be fixed with a software update that is just being rolled out. I won't list them all here, but there are very active threads on the e-tron and motor.talk forums.

I came from a BMW 840i Gran Coupe. My company started offering salary sacrifice, which made the jump a little sweeter. The only real competitor for me was the new Macan EV, which shares the same PPE platform as the Q6. I was swayed by thr much higher standard spec of the Edition 1 over the Macan 4.

Servicing is 2 years/20k. I'm not aware of the cost as this is included by the salary sacrifice scheme.

My car is on passive suspension and 21 inch rims, and I'd describe the ride as unsettled. I wouldn't go above 20 inch unless specifiying air suspension, which is currently limited to the SQ6, and seems to come with its own set of issues.

Thanks both for the replies.

The E-Tron forum made for some interesting reading and definitely not something we're going to rush into, despite it being a "great" deal.

Hmmm. Not good reading !

Considering one of these, owned Audi’s in the past which I loved. Not so sure having read some of the comments now but really looking at making a purchase in the Spring so plenty of time to see how things shape up.

Will pop along to local Audi dealer to see what they say.

Ask for an extended test drive. Many of the dealer demonstrators aren't the road awaiting fixes. That should tell you all you need to know!

update on my Q6.
AUDI have had my car for four weeks so many problems too many to mention. The dealership have been fantastic on the other hand. AUDI have been absolutely terrible useless disgusting I could think of four letter words but I won’t put them on here. The worst company I’ve ever dealt with in all my life!!!!!!!!!!!
if you’re thinking of buying a Q6, I would highly recommend you DON’T

Pretty unimpressed with ours, Quattro Edition 1.

It looks great and drives well on smooth roads.

Although;

The ride is AWFUL - on the 21’s with no option for air suspension. Other markets got air suspension on these trim levels and to not even have it as an option considering the state of the UK roads is boggling. Genuinely uncomfortable travelling in the back,

We’ve had a fair few tech gremlins;

Digital key not working

The app is very poor - lots of command fail and the car keeps turning off data

Regular messages of steering fail

Speed limits completely wrong meaning the default on speed limit warning bongs

Also now the temp has dropped the range is atrocious l.

Still not sure what I would have chosen instead of this as most alternatives were not that compelling apart from a pricey ix50

I'd echo the comments on ride, from what I can remember of it! Mine has also been at the dealers for 4 weeks waiting parts that are on back order.
