Gen 1 R8 V8

Hi - I have been looking at these for the past couple of months and have been advised to approach with caution due to parts availability. Apparently even basic items like handbrake cables are becoming hard to find. Anyone running one here having trouble getting replacement parts?

It's a slightly older, low-volume car and Audi don't have the greatest reputation for long term parts availability.

Order something obscure and it'll be on the shelf, ready to go.

Order something obvious "no longer available"

The community around these is generally quite good at filling in the blanks. I wouldn't let Audi discontinuing some parts put me off ownership. That's a much smaller problem than actually finding a good one in the first place.

I have a 2010 V8 and no problems with parts so far...find a good independent to look after it (I take mine to REPerformance in Swindon)...remap, filters, exhaust valve mod (so they are open all the time) and a carbon clean are all worth doing. The R8talk.com forum is useful too...
