I fancy buying a new shape Golf sometime but abhor tinted windows. As far as I’m aware these are standard. Is there an option not to have them?

I assume you're talking about the tint behind the B-pillar, and not on the front windows (which is what I'd call 'gangster')?

It looks like the rear tint is dependent upon model, so if you go for a wannabe 'gangster' model then you get the 'gangster' tint...but if you go for the Golf Life or Style specs there is no standard rear tint.

Thanks. I used to have a Macan and I specced that without; I bet it was a rarity!

Check with the dealer—some trims may offer standard clear glass.
