Audi R8 V8 / V10 Coupe with R-Tronic

Hi Folks,
Once we get our house move out of the way I think its time for a new fun car. Currently have a 987.1 Cayman S, and previously had a 996.1 C2 Manual Coupe (early lightweight).
The R8 on the surface looks like an excellent way into something different, and whilst it won't be to everyones tastes, I quite like the R-Tronic gearbox.
Curious if anyone here has had a V8 or V10 R8 with that box, and how you got on with it.
My head is saying the V8 almost makes no sense when compared to the price of some of the early V10, but its hardly a slouch.
