I asked VW dealer about a DSG service and they said no it's sealed for life.

Took it to local VW independent and they had it in the ramp and couldn't see any drain plug. There answer was the same, sealed for life.

Car is on 45K. So it's basically a ticking bomb on when the gearbox will develop an issue.

Has anyone successfully got the gearbox serviced with oil and filter change?

Car is 2019 7sp.

I don't think for one minute it's a ticking bomb. There are loads of same engine and box in different models with high miles that have never been changed. The 7 speed does have a drain plug , two in fact . A drain and fill plug and a drain only on the mechatronic.

I think you are being given poor advice

They’re certainly not sealed for life VW just like to be difficult.

There will be a VAG specialist near you - there’s loads about - who will do it for you. Use them for servicing from now on too.

It's a DQ200 box - you can watch YouTube videos of how to change the oil. There's two lots of oil in there.

VW do say it's sealed for life, but you'll see all sorts of mileages that people recommend for changes - 40, 60, 80K.

Bit concerning that a VW specialist was baffled by it.

Vw specialist was recommended by a few people.

I've contacted another VW specialist and am waiting for a reply.

Unless you're about to massively change your level of usage, as its only done 45k in 6 years, I wouldn't worry about it.

Interesting that they list the exact same price for the DQ200 and the DQ250, when there is a such a difference between them with regards to fluid quantity ,filters and procedure.

There's two types of oil in the DQ200, although not much of either of them.

The DQ250 does look oddly cheap though. Googling suggests it's normally £2-300.
