I'll get us started.
I have a 2016 GTI Performance in Night Blue. I've had it 1 year now and enjoy it every time I get in it.
It's a 3 door, manual with tartan seats.
A few upgrades / modifications as below:
19" Pretoria alloys
Forge wheel spacers
VagSport resonator delete
Direnza cold air intake
RTS twin friction clutch & dual mass flywheel
Bartek quick shift kit
APR tuned by Awesome GTI
315bhp & 393lb/ft

Happy owner of a 2019 GTI Performance DSG here!
I ve smashed on circa 40k miles onto in the near 2.5y I ve had it so far - now ~84k!
It s not had any running issues for me atall and long may that continue.
Loving the Adpative lighting in the evenings, and the ACC especially - use that literally every time I drive at sone point, makes commuting a breeze.
I ve made a couple of lighter changes:
- Pike-y R600 - Ramair Panel Filter, Ramair Intake Hose & eBay special Turbo Elbow, plus OEM Intake opening blanking plate.
- 18 BBS VZ025 Wheels refurbed in a Sparkle Silver
- Brembo Xtra Drilled Discs & Brembo Xtra Pads all round
Planned changes?
Looking at adding a TCR front lip just to change it up a little bit without going OTT.
I have a set of Whiteline Lowering Springs sat in the garage that I ve been sat on for over a year and still haven t fitted I think it ll look better with a little drop so maybe I ll get them done one weekend soon

I haven t mapped it yet, very on the fence as wary of ruining or stressing it and pushing myself into avoidable issues.
I think this is also why I ve not done the springs too, is this what getting older does to you?!

I absolutely adore the MQB platform. I've had both the GTI and the R

It was an absolutely incredible car and definitely the car that has had the biggest impact on my enthusiasm for cars in general.
After a brief stint of 'V8 Life' I've returned back to MQB. I spotted this R for sale at a dealer locally, it's an awfully small world as I know of the owner, the mechanic that I use carried out the majority of work on the car and the detailer who I'm on good terms with had protected the car since new.
It's a 1 previous owner car with absolutely no expense spared for modifications and maintenance.

I've got the original purchase/order invoice for the car and the only options are DCC, Climate windscreen (which is why it looks like it's got a chameleon tint) and the colour - Turmeric Yellow. The cost new? £28,187.20
It's absolutely terrifyingly fast and gives you massive amounts (too much) confidence. It's a very boring "point-and-shoot" car but it's got a load of charm to it.

After my time with the M3, I really wanted to get more track experience this year. So we booked on for a session @ Oulton Park. I'm really pleased with how it went. For next time I'm wanting more (neg) camber and semi-slicks, the rest of the car honestly felt perfect. I'm off to the Nurburgring in June so hopefully I'll have that finished by then.
I'm likely to change out to Bilstein B16 Damptronic coilovers. I've messed around with a few options trying to save some money in the past and I genuinely don't believe it's worth the hassle, you may aswell do it right the first time. Wheels too, the stock Cadiz aren't great but it's painful to upgrade to anything and stomaching the cost for tyres. I recently had all 4 tyres vandalised (screws in the sidewalls...), I was able to source the tyres under £80 a corner - that could have been significantly more if I was running wider or larger wheels.

I'm very unlikely to further modify this car, it's genuinely really good as is. Who knows though.

Hi, another recent owner here. I picked this up at the start of the month. A few firsts for me, first VAG car, first German car and first red car! I was looking for a midnight blue one but I viewed 2 tornado red on the same day and they were both great cars, and it basically boiled down to I preferred one dealer more over the other.
It's a manual, performance pack, with heated tartan seats so those were my main requirements all ticked. It's just clocked over 63k so a fairly low mileage for a nearly 10 year old car, I don't plan to mod it but I wouldn't mind giving it a bit more induction and turbo noise. I have considered a turbo muffler delete with an aftermarket airbox and turbo elbow to give it a bit more of a voice but I don't want it to be so noisy that it'll get on my wick as it is my daily.
First thing I need to fix is the drain pipe from the boot lid badge to bottom of the boot lid isn't protruding from the bottom as it should, after I washed it and opened the boot a bit of water dripping from the interior plastic and onto the parcel shelf. The dealer would probably sort it if I asked but they are 1hr 30 away and it's about £10 to replace it so I might as well do it myself.
Anyway here it is, I think it looks stunning in red.

I've an identical looking 2015 one, when I work out how to post a pic I will do. Currently on 110k miles.I've a DSG due to ongoing medical work on my left foot. Peak car IMO, very comfortable, nippy, enough space inside, media and gadgets, compact, buttons. 300 mile trip to Edinburgh completed with ease.

Just like mine! Bought late 2024 on ~65k miles and it has been a great car since. It is pretty well specced with the Performance Pack, Dynaudio system, the larger satnav screen with Car Play, heated seats and sun protection glass. It's a manual, performance pack, with heated tartan seats so those were my main requirements all ticked. The only major thing I have done to date is a full brake upgrade with Zimmerman discs and EBC RedStuff pads. I would like to change the wheels out for some a bit more motorsport and upgrade the suspension.
I do have that drip onto the parcel shelf though - I will have to look into that.

Mk8 GTI Clubsport owner here, but previously owned a Mk7.5 GTI. The Mk7.5 was a good car, but the current GTI is a big step up in almost all areas.
I honestly think the mk8 is the worst gti for a long time. Some of the interior choices are very very poor and the electrics are notoriously problematic. thebraketester said:

I've owned and driven both marks extensively, the infotainment and electronics on the Mk8 have been solidly reliable now for a number of years. I prefer the interior and exterior styling in the 8 now, and the chassis, brakes, power etc is a decent step on.i ll join in R32 and 7.5 R owner
