Hi all,

I don't know a lot about cars.
I parted with my 2010 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI last week due to concerns over the oil pressure warning light coming on and concerns as to what had potentially developed - as advised by my mechanic.
I am looking at a 2008 (08 plate) VW Golf Plus 1.9 TDI PD Dune (the rugged model) as a replacement. Its got an amazing service history, one owner from new and 161k on the clock.

Is there any easy way for a layman to know whether this engine will have a DPF on it ? as if it does, I am less inclined to buy the car.
I realise with 161k it will have require good maintenance to have been carried out but the previous owners and paperwork seem really good and its in fantastic condition.

Any help appreciated as I am test driving it tomorrow.

Thanks

ssray

It will likely have a DPF, and the 1.9 105 engines aren't the finest hour in VW's reliability compared to the older 1.9s, but if its been serviced well then it should generally be ok.
