VW We Charge App question

Well, an app related question...
Can you activate a public charge (in the partner network) via the app or do you have to wait for a physical card to arrive? Engineer collected his new Buzz Cargo last week and we've got him registered on the "We Charge" app with the company credit card details. The card should arrive this week but it would be really handy not to leave him stranded until it arrives.
The Merc app for the CLA250+ you can scan a QR code on the charging station and activate it that way, which is really handy for me to pass the vehicle onto one of the team, just log them in on my credentials and away they go. I also have a physical card but I've never used it, the app is actually easier.
Does the VW app have the same thing?
