Just love the "stuff-it" attitude to the normal "VW Group" thing of keeping the brands distinct.
They're all the same car underneath, so let's just sell them all together!

Used to see this in the UK. Only one I can think of right now is Esplanade on IOW.

Still fairly common in mainland Europe, I've seen a couple of combined Porsche/Audi in the US.

It all depends on what sort of driver you are (in order):

- You like spending your time within an inch of the car in front of you
- You are a chav
- You are a "yummy mummy"
- You wish you were one of the others
- You like spending your time within an inch of the car in front of you, but you have a business

Where is that dealership? A colleague in Germany told me VW Group own a lot of the dealerships and sell all the main brands together.

I wonder how they compete? He went to change his Audi SQ5 to a new one and came out with a Cupra Ateca instead - I wouldn't have thought Audi brand management would be thrilled about that.

Their brand boundaries are getting very fuzzy now.
It used to be:
VW - mainstream family car
Audi - luxury
Skoda - budget
Seat - Sporty

but that doesn't seem to apply any more.

I think that’s still right but they’re closer together now - I wouldn’t put Audi as high as luxury or Skoda as low as budget. The SEAT brand is supposed to be being dropped to just Cupra.

Pretty much any brand could be classified in thr ssame way, which is why they have those.Maybe you could enlighten us which brand you drive? I suspect you're kidding yourself if whatever you drive isn't stereotyped.

makes a lot of sense,

you could really have 5 brands and one workshop given how closely aligned they all are.

This is all based on what a dealer would be selling new, of course.

I drive an old Golf wink

Unusual to see but Winchester is dual branded, was VW originally but Skoda is clearly the more prominently branding these days.

They're authorised for servicing VW but only Skoda for selling cars.

Google says they gave up VW years ago and switched to Skoda. But "gave up" might not have been entirely voluntary.

I think the showroom clearly doesn't meet current (well this millennium) "brand standards" for VW e.g not a giant glass & white painted monolith & hence the reduction to service centre only.Which is strange as VW were offering a lot of incentives to retailers to seek out or improve city centre locations at that time.

Which one is which? VW is there twice, and Seat and Cupra share a sign. Also I'm about to swap my VW for a Skoda. Should I warn my best beloved that my personality is about to change drastically? I don't think it did when I went ftom Skoda to VW.

Dealer in Gloucester is VW/Seat/Cupra. Skoda is seperate, as is Audi.
