MMI oil level playing up on B8?
Discussion
HI All, some advice would be much appreciated
We have an 2012 Audi S4 Avant and the oil level on the MMI may be playing up. I had a low oil warning a while ago and after putting in a good half litre it came on again after only a week or so. This caused me to wonder if the oil sensor was dodgy. I did a bit of research and bought a manual oil dipstick with part number 06E 115 611H and that showed the level was at the maximum. Today the red oil warning light came on. Ive checked the oil level again on the dipstick and its still at the maximum level on the manual dipstick.
Having done a bit of research, I also opened and closed the bonnet with the ignition on, saw that the car warned me that the bonnet was open and then after closing it, the oil warning light went off.
Two questions please:
- can anyone advise re whether I am definitely using the right manual dipstick as per that part number (Audi dealers have no part number at all to give)?
- Assuming the oil level is good, is the bonnet latch micro-switch the likely culprit?
Thanks very much for any advice/thoughts
