Golf Gti TCR buying
Discussion
Always like the look of these and they are a bit different to the more commonly sighted Golf R and regular Gti
As there's not loads for sale it's hard to ascertain what a good price is as figures are all over the place and ones for sale seem to be for sale for ages.
I dont want to get burned either as I tend to get bored after 12 months regardless of what car it is.
So...
Are they a good buy in terms of coming to sell?
Are the non optioned standard ones worth buying or avoiding? (some have the DDC and Akraprovic)
The grey is my fave
I've seen a standard grey with miles around 21k but the dealer is asking £28k. Is that fair?
Sorry for all the questions but I'd rather ask now before buying!

I sold one a year or so ago; it sat around for ages, and ultimately took a few reductions to get it gone. I'm not sure how many people are prepared to accept the premium on price, and I expect those who are will want a properly specified car.
They're S3 money so buying one needs to be a very conscious decision vs. an objectively 'better value' car.
Controversial opinion: they're not as good as the Clubsport that preceded them, and as a car they're a little underwhelming. You can feel the compromises required for tractability and emissions compliance. Gearbox is dimwitted compared to pre-facelift car, and throttle response a bit lazy. That engine never sounds particularly thrilling, and with OPF it's pretty muted.
