A simple ecu remap would be a good starting point, there are some very good gains to be had. There are a lot of companies out there offering different remap's Revo and Custom Code probably being the most popular. Have a look on www.revotechnik.com/ and www.custom-code.co.uk/ for more info.

I'd love to upgrade my A3 2.0 TDi but it's a company car.
I fear I'd get the sack if either the main dealer detected the chip during a routine service or I had an accident and the insurance company found out
Ive just found this product. My understanding is that upgrades through the obd port are plug-in and easily removed for warranty issues/services
www.mrhoot.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TBPD050
maybe thats what Im looking for ?

With the Revo remap you can get a device called a SPS (serial port switch) that will turn the map off and on when you want. May be you could turn the map off when it goes in for servicing?

Thats a tuning box, I would stay well away from them as they alter boost settings and can harm your turbo. If you want real reliable power, get it remapped properly on a rolling road, AMD TECHNIK, REVO TECHNIK and CUSTOM-CODE are all VAG specialists offering remap software, have a look on there website's for more info
