105k is nothing. Earler 12 valve engines are best avoided, 30valve are much better.

They are excellent !

I had a P reg A4 Quattro A4 for 8 years before px for a TVR. Its got great looks, good turn of speed and the traction is awsome. From a-b across Wales, it would be a close contest until it rains then the Quattro would walk it.

I sold it with 95k and just run in. V6 is strong. Just make sure its got Full Service history but solid.

Got a 97(R) with 105,000ish. miles on the clock.

Generally a good car and a great engine with bags of torque. Traction never a problem but tends to understeer when pushed.

Watch out for front suspension knocks (mines been almost totally replaced) and oil leaks (I had front engine seals replaced by main dealer - £1600). Other than that fairly solid, other probs relatively minor. Find a good independent Audi/VW specialist.

Mines a bit of a wreck now but it's still fairly quick and entertaining - thinking about upgrading to a newer S4 Avant (4.2).

I run a Passat Syncro as my every day car. It's got the Audi 2.8 30v engine. Now covered 135000 miles and very reliable. Not as powerful as you might think however.
