RS4 Avant delay

sorry if this is a re-post, but has anyone else had their RS4 Avant order delayed. Was due to get car on Sept 1, now told Nov/Dec delivery.

Nope. My father's is apparently ready for collection at the start of next week. It has been delivered to the dealership already but he's away on holiday at the moment.

My dad is expecting one too - but he says they haven't even given him a date yet other than the vague "September/October-ish" they gave hime when he 'bought' it earlier in the year.

from what someone was saying on RS6, the delay has been caused by unexpected demand for the saloon in the states. As is common for cars these days the Yanks will get theirs first even if you paid for yours first.

Sadly it makes sense - a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, for sure, but once one of those birds is in the hand then what's to stop you going after the one that's still in the bush.

I agree though - it sucks big time.

Well my father's now got his RS4 Avant and dead chuffed with it he is too. Rang me up to eulogise about it last night.

So it seems that some are getting through.
