if true and the spy shots seem to look like they're real then the RS6 is going to be short lived, very short lived.

Isn't it going to make the RS4 a bit redundant? If it's going to compete with the M3 it can't be much more expensive than the RS4 and it has more power.

Looks awesome though, can't wait to see if they do make it.

But the (current) RS4 is B7, and nearing end of life. The A5 / S5 / RS5 is build on the next A4 platform....

S5 will look like that.

Im told the RS5 is years away. My S5 comes in Sept and already put money down on an RS5 ! I think they are going to be great cars. Saw an A5 in the flesh the other day, looks good. Can post pics if anyone is interested and tells me how to do it.

Why would a coupe make a wagon/sedan redundant?

It wouldn't obviuosly. I think though we're missing the point tha AUDI and Quattro GMBH who make the RS models have said many times that they will not make more than one RS at a time because they don't have the capacity what with also being tasked with building R8s(unless they change to the new M method of adding the stuff on the usual line). The RS6 is next then potentially the R8RS. I think the RS5 will never happen unless it becomes a part of the next RS4 range and thats not for another 4 years at least.

The RS5 will happen in around a year IMO, then the B8 RS4 a year after that. Audi will be keen to maintain the momentum (sales & PR) that the B7 RS4 has created.

OK for the third time.

They have said they will not be making more than one RS model at a time. The next one is the RS6, due to be launched at the Frankfurt motor show. Even if they break this self imposed rule the capacity at the factory that adapts A4s and A6s and also builds the R8 will not be sufficient to build three models (R8,RS6 and RS5) let alone four (the RS4 b8)in one years time. They have not extended the factory in the past year and no work is ongoing to do so. they had a 3 month waiting list at its shortest for the RS4 because of this and just imagine what bad PR it would be if the wait for the next RS models extended beyond those expected of Ferrari 12 cylinder models.

The RS6 will be continuing the momentum just fine. As the RS6 did after the last RS4.

Don't get me wrong i would welcome an RS5/4 of the B8 model but I don't think its going to happen until the end of the run just as has been the case for the last two models.
