I have a 1.4S Lupo and basically, from cold, it won't idle. Take my foot of the gas and it stalls. Only after it has warmed up a bit, does it idle ok, but even then only at around 500rpm.
Had the problem looked at at a local garage. They put a diagnostic machine on and it came back with fault code 282 - Throttle body position and they are saying that I need a new throttle body! (and a coolant temp sensor)

Priced one up at local VW garage, and they quoted me £340 inc VAT! A friend says GSF do them for around £200 inc VAT?

Am I able to get one cheaper and is is easy enough to D.I.Y? Plus any other helpful advice welcome.

Cheers.

p.s The engine code is AHW

I would have said it was the coolant temp sender only

U can clean the throttle bodies out by removing it from the car and cleaning with isopropyl alcohol then get the throttle body reset with vag com (its worth a try if you havnt already done it),the temp sensors are a weak point on all modern vag engines so i would change this anyway!
If you would like any more info p.m me
