Kinda new here guys wavey

Looking at getting a Golf TDi Anniversary (2002), had a search through some old topics and they seem to be held in a fairly positive light. Anyone got any pointers on the car?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi'er Matt,

Great choice of car! I used to own one. If my circumstances hadn't changed, i never would've sold it.

Tbh, i had a few problems, Air con completely knackered being the main one and poor VW customer service, but it was a great car with a brilliant engine!

Its an expensive car for what it is really, but it'll definately hold its value once you've got it, like most Golf Diesels. (I only lost £150 in 8 months of ownership).

Anything you'd like to know, send me an email and i'll try and help.

Ive got the Diesel anniversary model.
Look out for the wheels as they are prone to laquer peeling off, and not many refurbers can or will get them back to their origional condition.

Electric window motors can play up and need to be fixed properly using longer lasting parts
Turning left slowly you may hear a slight rubbing sound, this is apparently quite common!! So my local Stealer said anyway. Any way thats about all i can tell you. Not bad for a car thats coming up to 5 years old.

Other than that you wont be filling up very often as they do 45+MPG without a hassle and its an eye catching car, you get some serious looks and its diesel, if thats the one your going for!!

Go for the diesel, Its got some nice torque and you will be suprised
