All,
Before I shell out for some cards, does anyone have any experience of playing music from the SD card slots in the Audi Navigation System Plus? The manual seems pretty vague, and surprisingly so does Google! Basic queries are:

1. Manual says max 256Mb card. Anyone using anything bigger? it seems as though the limit is number of files as opposed to actual memory.
2. Can you play Apple encoded files (m4a)?

Cheers

Hi Bugs,
I'm using 2GB Viking SD cards - work fine
Two in SD cards = about 40-ish albums
Just make sure that when you save the tunes from your PC onto the SD cards you save them as MP3 files.

I going to try the 4GB cards which are now out

All the best.

I use 2 x 1Gb cards with no problem and have heard of people using upto 4Gb, i know there are some issues with the bigger cards which can be resolved with some messing about but the bigger limiting factor is that the system can't handle more than a few hundred files which kind of makes using the big cards pointless. Pop over to RS246.com and look there where you'll see all the info in detail.

I've got 2 x 2Gb cards from mymemory.co.uk

SD cards ONLY, NOT SDHC

Sizes up to 4GB work fine.

512 objects per card maximum, objects = MP3 files + folders + M3U files

You can choose whether to show file names or track names.

If you want to control both the order of play and what appears on the DIS then you can use playlists.

Hey Obes,
Well it's not as quick as I thought (hoped!) it might be, but yes, loving it. I'm happy to give up outright speed for practicality, and in fact, it's probably quicker in many situations - certainly the wet!
FYI - just got an account at rs246 - bugs.
Cheers,
D.

I'm using 2Gb cards but they don't seem to be able to accept more than about 100 songs each. I drageed and dropped about 300 MP3 files from iTunes onto the card. After 256Mb it said it was full!

Obes,
If you're working with a Mac, does that imply you're using AAC files, or is all your music mp3?
Cheers,
D.

Thanks Guys.
The order's in for a few 2Gb SD cards, and I've started converting to mp3 (yawn!). Hopefully up and running by the weekend.
