Bad Radio reception on A4 - Help please

Recently bought 2001 A4, really pleased with the car but I am disappointed with radio reception. I understand aerial is within heated rear screen, but had these before on other marques with no problem. Local Audi dealers have suggested they look into it but I can see my hard earned quickly leaving my account for theirs. Anyone have any ideas ?

I have same problem on 2003 A4. I think from previous posts it is to do with an amplifier somewhere behind rear seats. I can't be bothered to dig too deeply since I'm sure it is expensive and quite frankly will make do with CDs!

I've heard the amp could be at fault, does anyone know where it is located ?

get a tt radio amp kit and fit that in.

the radio amp sits at the top of the rear screen. remove the central rear roof trim between the n/s and o/s pillar trims should just pop off. you will find it there.

got the same issue with my 06 A4 Sline and apparently it is where the mobile phone glass mounted ariel is??
which begs the question why the bloody ell they put in there
