Hi.

Just found out that my B6 model S4 Avant has 3 buckled wheels.

The ones on the car are the factory option 18" nine-spokes.

I could see myself buying exact replacements as I do like these, or reverting to a new set of 18" Avus wheels.

I'd prefer to stick to 18" to both keep my existing new tyres, and to keep the ride a little bit compliant.

My company car (A4 B7 2.0TDi (170ps) quattro S-line special edition) has the 18" 7 double spoke design (like the B7 RS4 style but not so dished and not 19&quotwink and I like these, but having tried them on the S4, I'm not sure they suit it.

Anyone got any suggestions of a replacement set that will enhance the car, but still look relatively OEM, i.e. not tacky?

Was considering MTM Bi-Moto 18".

The car is Dolphin Grey incase it matters to the look!

Cheers,

AD.

When I bought the car, privately I might add, the owner confessed to me that one of the front lower arms was faulty and needed replaced.

I negotiated £500 off to cover this, back in March, but had no time to get the repair looked at until now.

The car was giving a small steering judder at 70 - 80 mph.

I work at an Audi dealer, but I had no S4s available to me at the time, so bought privately...

However yesterday I gave one of our technicians the car to diagnose the problem and get the parts ordered, and he found that 3 wheels are approximately the shape of 50p pieces on the inner edges of the rims!!

So that's what the vibrations are.

The lower arms and other suspension parts seem fine.

I suspect in answer to your question that the previous (2nd) owner's narrow pot holed roads are to blame for the damage!

Also the first owner from new was a vet, and they do have to drive farm tracks etc, so maybe it's damage from when he had it!

Hey - Ho -

Anyway, what do you think I should choose?

19" Sportec Monos are what I have and they are excellent, and a lot lighter than the S4 Avus wheels which appear to be made of dark matter.

I agree on the B7 RS4 replicas, they look good on B7's but not B6's, perhaps BBS LM's but I'm not a fan personally.

Only problem with MTM's and Sportecs is that unless you can get some used, they are £2.5K +.

I quite like the look of the new B7 S4 twin spoke design.

Good luck.

Thanks for that guys.

I've looked at the Sportecs, and mioght quite fancy getting some - anyone know a stockists?

I've tried AMD as they came up when I googled it, but they say they don't stock them...

Verging towards standard Avus 18", BBS VZ 18", or the B7 RS4 type...

But this is because I'm concerned about it looking too "boy-racer-ish" with the wrong rimes on - I want to make it look just right, and look like it was meant to be fitted with the wheels in the first place...

I've even tried to buy back my 18" BBS CHs from the man who bought my B5 S4, but he wants to hang on to them!

Any advice on Sportec stockists gladly accepted.

I've replied to your other thread Drybeer. If you want to look at what they look like on a B6 S4, PM me and I send some pics.

Not at all chavvy and fill the arches just nicely without the need for lowered springs. I have 8.5J x 19 which are quite handy if you also want to do the RS4 front brake upgrade.
