Quick question:

Does this light up for rear pad wear as well, or just the fronts?

FIL has said that the light is on, and car is due for MOT - I've said I'll do the pads for him - but looking through the wheels, there is quite a bit of meat on the front pads, and very little on the rears.

(The discs are all dished though, so it might be the wear indicator touching the lip on the front disc anyway I suppose)

Any tips on where to buy the pads & discs from? Anyone got a fitting guide?

Cheers

As I understand it it is only the front pads, and I know how you must be feeling. I had the same issue with my wifes Audi A2 last year, the light came on. So I took it to the local centre for a free check up (not paying dealer price). He said there was plenty of life left in the pads and Audi was being to conservitive, he estimated 2000 miles more to go, the discs are looking shabby too, so no real issue if the pads do go. I cleaned the car the other day and the pads still look good. she has done 75000 miles on the first set of pads (the car) I thought the mot boys may have picked up on it last september but they were ok with it. I took it to the dealer for a reasurance service before the mot and Audi said they needed changing.

Cheers for the reply.

Bought pads, and fitted them a couple of weeks ago. Rears were very worn, but it was the fronts causing the light to come on.

Once I'd got the tools together it only took a couple of hours to change all the pads.
