S6 - Its cheap so why not sold ?
Discussion
I am stuck deciding between several cars at the moment - one is the S6 which I believe is a nice car (coming from a new Lexus GS430) that wont be a huge shock to my Lexus comforted pressure points BUT will be a bit (lot) more exciting - anyhoo - query is.
Nearest and cheapest used one is Staffs 2006 56 Reg Audi S6 5.2 V10 quattro (trade) at £42 ish and 10k miles - thay have had it ages and ages - months its sprint blue so cant be the colour.
Dont want to even consider a turkey so whats the score with it - surely thay cant be that unwanted ?
Cheers

It's big and expensivce wit ha big thirsty engine. About as non PC as is possible this sode of a Cayenne and nobody wants them as a result. The only sector of the used market that's doing any decent business at the moment is the dull reliable shopping car for less than £12k sector. Great for us, not so great for people trying to sell.
For me in 12 months I think the S6 will be an absolute second hand steal, a 5.2 V10 for around £30K. However as new and even currently they are a bit of a turkey, like the previous S6 (which was also a good car)for one main reason.... the RS6 and the fact the runmours were leaked it was coming as soon as the S6 came out.
Also fuel economy is not great in them but the biggest gripe of the S6 is that unless you want an autobahn basher the suspension is useless compared to the air setup on an S8. It has had widespread criticsim whenever reviewed and was designed to munch the miles on the motorway or straight line speed, not on B roads.
The other thing is that the desirable S6's are dark colours (black, Mugello Blue); it is a big car and sprint blue does not hide its bulk, even worse on an S6 Avant I saw unless you are trying to make a statement / be seen.

All the above comments are spot on. I've driven one and whilst the suspension is not quite right, I would consider the car at the right price. However, they are still overpriced by a long way. The S6 is a sub £40k car 2nd hand in any trim and at any age. Sprint Blue does not work on the S6 BTW.
