Dave, what's RSAP? Do these figs relate to a 1999/2000 ST24??
You sound well versed, am I right that a ST200 has 200bhp?
Whatare the stats for the ST220??

RSAP - Rallye Sport Appearance Pack (er... bodykit)

ST200 was claimed to have an output of 202ps, so yep, about 200bhp.

Not quite sure where you got those figures from but you are well off the mark!! Standard ST220's dyno @ 237ps without any problems at all(published figures are 226ps-229 BHP. Here's Ford's very own test data showing 237ps(240 BHP).0-60 8.5?? riggghhht.................6.9 is closer the mark.

With regard to your offer-i've never been to santa pod,if you honestly think you could take a 220 then good luck wink I know a few lads on the 220 forums that go there often-up for a run against one of them?? I'm sure the forum could arrange it.

All of them seem to dyno @ 197BHP in standard form.

On that site is says the 220 is 1550Kg(actual for 4 door saloon is 1485!) 5 door hatch is 1490) Estate is 1549 so i'd guess that is the car they tested???

when i had my 6sp ST220, a good friend of mine had a really nice late black VR6.. we never did any specific tests against the two cars but the usual slip lane to motorway entry found the ST220 to have a slight advantage. In his own opinion he thought my ST220 was faster at high speeds.i pretty sure that a early or late model VR6 would have a slight advantage over a ST24 just like how a ST220 has a slight advantage over a VR6.

That would be my thinking, the gearing on the 6 speed is superb-each change brings the revs back to where the power band is-it goes like a train! Seeing as my 220 is MUCH quicker than my old 2.5 v6(not an ST24 but identical engine, apart from the mods like chip etc!) i don't think an ST24 would keep up with the VR6. Figures don't always tell the whole story mind...........

Having driven both Ford & VW and plenty of fast cars i would say a VR6 would see off the Mondeo, The Germans are always conservative on the figs and the Blue oval suits tend to do a lot of chest beating.

Which Mondeo? ST24 maybe, ST200 doubt it, ST220 no chance!

Rolling road figs can be so varying as to be meaningless for anything other checking gains on before/after mods runs on the same car as unless you all use the same rollers- (& even then they can do some odd things with trans loss coast down figs & temp adjustments) on the same day.

Same Golf 3 diferent rolling roads at diferent establishments no mods in between, 171, 180, 193 bhp take ya pick!
