Engine stalls when turning right?
Discussion
Our family bus is a 1998 A4 Avant 2.8 Quattro - over the past few months, on 2 or 3 occasions the car has stalled during low speed right turn manoeuvres. The steering also goes very heavy as if the power steering has given up temporarily. Any ideas why? Has anyone else come across this problem?

Faulty valve in the PAS hydraulic fluid system?
Blocks flow in one direction only, so on that direction pump load rises making engine stall?
Lack of pump pressure makes steering heavy?
Maybe?
Similar conclusion to mine - the pump suddenly sapping power at low engine speeds leads to a stall.Blocks flow in one direction only, so on that direction pump load rises making engine stall?

Maybe?
