I always groan when I see these threads in my usual forum but I just can't seem to get a grasp on Golf prices. Maybe it's the fact that there are so many variations and most of the same age seem to have fairly high mileages.

So I'd like to ask the jury, what can I expect to get for a 5-door Golf GTi, 'R' reg, 74,000 miles in average condition? I had it as a spare in case my usual runner let me down but it hasn't, hence the low mileage. Now I need the drive space and (don't tell the wife) I could use the money for some upgrades.

See what I mean? To-the-moon-and-back-mileage!!!

Thanks Leo, they seem to be selling for a little more than that in the PH classifieds though.

Yes yes alright leo lol but it is over 10 years older than your golf. The engine runs sweet as a nut, with no rattles or anything, the only issue is the play in the gear linkage, which i am sorting, and a bit of bodywork which i should be able to have a good stab at. The interior is absolutely mint for its age, which was abit of a shock, no wear on the seats or anything.

Cheers
