My Manifold PLEASE HELP!!

Hi all

Have just bought a manifold for my mk2 golf gti 8v, got the car up in the air and saw that the old manifold is much longer than the new one? What else do i need to fit a performance manifold as i assumed it was a straight swap for the old one? Though it seems like i need a 6ft pipe to make it reach the next section of the exhaust!

Please help me?

I assume you mean you've bought a 4 branch exhaust manifold?

Standard exhaust has 4 parts:

Header
Downpipe (has a silencer depending on year)
centre section
rear section and tailpipes


The top two should come down as far as the bottom of the gear change which is where the 4 branch should come to also as it replaces these parts.

Any chance of a pic of yours? Sounds like some strange aftermarket contraption :s
