I have been accused, maybe fairly, of spending too long dreaming, test driving, and changing my mind over expensive cars.

At last, though, I pulled the trigger, and have just ordered my shiny new dealer-fresh RS4 saloon. I had been messing around with the idea of a Gallardo, ut could not in the end bring myself to get something so impractical at a likely cost of £90k.

Daytona Grey, bucket seats in black leather, with satellite and TV. I could have it next weekend, but am waiting for the 1st Sep, to get the 57 plate.

I am happy, excited, and slightly worried, at spending the thick end of £50,000 on a car that, in many ways, is the same as my current M3.

Oh well. Nothing ventured...

"slightly worried"

Aha, I spot buyer's guilt hehehehe

You will have NO regrets once you are behind the wheel of the RS4 biggrin

I blew a wedge on a new S4 the other month and I'm lovin' it!!

Buyers guilt indeed.

I took Mrs NB down today while I did the paperwork. She was not allowed input on my choice (she has her car, I have mine), but got out laughing, and pointing out that it cost more than our first flat.

The money has just been sitting there for a while, but I have never bought a brand new car before, and, yes, I am not sure if spending so much on a fast passat makes sense. I mean, where is the sweet spot between cost and performance?

Mini, Golf GTi, RS4, Gallardo, F1?

Beautful, beautiful car, though.

Beautiful it sure is.
Without trying to open a hornet's nest, I reckon you will find the build quality a bit more superior than the Beemer.

Enjoy.....far too late now not to wink

Yep. Done now, so regrets or not, my ass will be in those bucket seats for a good while now.

And I know I will not regret it once I take it out to play.

I can't imagine you'll ever regret buying that car, unless you get stopped by the plod hehe

I drove one at Silverstone with Audi, and it was one of the best petrol head experiences of my life.

Enjoy, you lucky sod wink

That's a nice choice of car NB, if you don't mind me saying. My mate T66Aky, on here, nearly got one, but plumped for the new A8.

The A8 is definitely very nice too.

The way the economy in the North East is going, of course, I will pull up at the folks to find Maseratis parked either side.
