got one as a courtesy car today

feels slower and less responsive than a 2.0 TDi 170

torque steering all over the place

overall, a rather nasty piece of kit

It (the 2.7V6 TDi) is aimed at someone (probably older and suited to automatics) who possibly also needs more torque at low revs for towing something - probably a caravan.

I suspect a 2.0TDi 170 would suit you better, quattro if you want better traction.

Don't know what the point is with the 2.7 but I've got the passat 170 tdi dsg and on our summer hols earlier this month had it up to 138mph on the autobahns. Can't believe a 2.7 would be much different.

agreed - my thoughts are that this engine would work best in SE Auto spec...i.e. not the manual/Sportline spec of the car loaned to me

(probably explains why the dealer put this '56 plate car on their loan car fleet - wouldn't sell as a used car)

the Loan Car Fleets usually are up for sale at the same time. Does anybody know if the A6 2.7TDI is the same? My Dad's most likely going to replace his 05 A6 Saloon 2.4v6 with a new A6 Avant 2.7TDI
