But i can confirm my ipod works superbly on my S5. Ordered the ipod connection thingy, then had to get a wire to connect it (which i found strange) but it works very well and is easy to use

Yes you've got factory fitted AMI (audi music interface) but the car I'm concerned with has not got that option fitted.
Audi are going to launch a dealer fit for this but have no confirmed date for the equipment being released.
Dension make a similar media adapter for A6 allroad and Q7, and this is the kit I am hoping to fit...
In essence it should work as they all have a similar MMI set up, but I want to be sure before I promise a customer!
I'll just have to try to fit it to our demo A5 and see if it works.

Probably not the best person to comment on stuff like this. My ipod has just been for a spin in the washing machine with my gym kit.
