Evening,

Looking at buying an S3 from a mate. It's got 100k miles on the clock, recarro leather, bose sound system, climate control/air con, neo headlights etc, w reg. Cam belt change at 65k miles, air con refill last month, and new shocks 6 months ago. Anything I need to be aware of? Do I need to worry about the turbo? Any problems common of that age/mileage to be expected?

One other thing, its an EU import, right hand drive.

Thanks for your help!

It needs to be very cheap if you buy it.
I would not touch a high mile import.

The import bit wouldn't worry me, but it needs to be priced accordingly.

My S3 is up to 107k now, no problems to report (yet).

W-reg will be pre-facelift I think...I prefer the later interior.

Thanks chaps. How cheap do you think then? He is offering me 7k? Why wouldn't you touch the import post 100k in particular?

Interior isn't as good as post face lift but still smart looking.

Have the engine and Haldex oil changes been done on time?

I can only assume because you are combining two negative selling points.

Is it in excellent condition?
Is it still on the variable services - I've heard of a few horror stories with the long life oil in high mile engines.

£7k doesn't sound bad though.
