Not quite sure

I was ready to buy a year 2000/2001 Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI but then started to chew over the possibility of an Audi A4 1.9tdi. Have a budget of about 3000 pounds and have seen a few A4 of around the 7 year old and 80,000 - 120,000 mile mark.An A4 is listed on this site which interests me. But which really is the better car for a long term keeper (next stop is breakers yard).?

I shall use the car for daily use and tow my small vintage car 3/4 times a year to events. Thanks for any tips on what to look for.

Thanks for reply, amazingly the two cars are fairly close on price, although the Skoda pips the Audi as you say. Your correct I really would love to own the AUDI but is the running cost significantly higher than the Skoda.

Use a good independent and costs are no different for general servicing.
