My Bro' is considering the Fabia 1.9 sdi in a car around year 2001/2. I have said he will be advised to try and find a TDi version but as very few seem to be around is the SDi really slow/noisy as in the Octavia?

For god's sake tell him to get a TDi. The SDi is a dog of an engine.
