red RHD RS2 on auto trader

hi just wondering does anyone know the red RS2 on the autotrader, it seems to have been for sale for ages with a porsche specialist. Any reason I should steer clear of it?

The only thing I can tell you is that its not an ex Audi UK press/demonstrator.

It's been up for sale a number of times previously if I remember correctly:
- Fontain in March 2004
- Autotrader in Feb 2007

I don't know the car, but typically they are cheap for a reason. If you are interested it is well worth getting an inspection carried out by someone familiar with RS2s.

it's been on e-bay for a good long time too. I'm sure it started out about 5 months ago at around £14K. Not sure what might be wrong with it that people aren't interested. Mileage is okay but maybe a little high and off putting. Mine is 103K miles and I try and keep that down by limiting my mileage to around 6k a year. Check what was done with the brakes. Front discs can use Porsche part and as such are cheaper. Rear discs are an Audi only part at £200 each. Otherwise take it for a drive and see how it feels. Good buyers guide here

I think you will find it belonged to `Bigbash 22`? who used to be on S2 forum. Had had a lot of money spent on it and was well looked after iirc. It was originally for sale many months ago at just shy of £14k. Im reliably informed theres only 5 red RS2s in the uk. Good time of year to buy so haggle well and you might get a good deal.

thanks for the replies fellas, I'v mailed the seller but not heard back yet. I'm gonna call later and arrange a look. I was just worried it had some dubious history as i can remember seeing it few months back at about 14K when i ws lookign atthese before. Nice to hear it might be ok. Any ideas of a specalist in that neck of the woods to do a PPI for me?

Ask why no rear badges??? Qst in Haywards Heath nearest i know of personally. Top tip check in on S2forum theres a wealth of information on there on these very special cars. Let us all know how you get on wont you... would love to see your face when the turbo comes in at 3k lol these are brutal but quality machines good choice

I took INC2020 (the original press car) off the wagon when it came into the UK for the first time.

I had a few hundred feet of clear storage yard in front of me, I'd heard the rumours so thought I'd have a little go.

I will try to describe the next 3 or so seconds as accurately as I can.

Have had a few people passenger in my RS2 and its scared the life out of them. 0-30 iirc 1.5 secs 0-60 4.8 ... (and that was in standard factory trim loads of easy power upgrades out there) in gear acceleration when it hits 3k hold on `very very` tight...mate said, and i quote, "most fun ive had ever with my clothes on" lol

These cars are great fun and by god they are fast,all the above advise stands and don't let the mileage put you off,if looked after the 5cyl engine will do millennium mileage. good luck with your search.

the seller called me last night and it seems ok. it was main dealer servided upto 105K and then qst (kim collins?) but between 145K and now 158K theres no stamps in the book but its got receipts for having had the brakes done about 10K miles ago caliper rebuilds and disk's etc, cambelt 's been done. he said something about his valeter owned it and he's bought it now thats why its been for sale for so long which i'm not sure if it rings true or not but. also it has the big red brakes. any way he's bid me in the right ball park for my 530d touring that i need to px so i might go and have look. i'll let you know how it goes. also found a nice black with black leather one for sale with significantly lower mileage for the same money but he wont px so i ned to sell the bm first.

Make that 4, as I know of one dead red RS2 in Birmingham.
