multitronic clonk - is this normal?

Hi - have done 24K on an 05 plate, since about 20,000 miles
have a clonk noise (thinking its the pin dropping in) but only when I go from Reverse to Park ... and not every time. You can hear it from outside the car too but Audi reckon it is a noise I will have to live with, some cars do it, some don't so will not be investigating any further!
Anyone have any idea or is it "normal"?? Warranty runs out in June, really dont want to get to July and have to buy a new gearbox!!!
