Golff Rallye

Hi i don't know how many times this will have been asked but i'll as it again.
Is it worth investing in a golf rallye over my mk1 GTI (which when finished will have a civic vtec engine), or would i be better off waiting a while and saving to own both?

I've not driven a Rallye - but rumour would suggest they're expensive, bloated, underpowered and a potential grenade.

I genuinely hate the looks, also - those arches are just completely out of place.

A MK1 with a decent VTEC motor however sounds like an absolutely superb weapon.
