anyone got a spare ecu for '93 golf vr6?

Hello,
had a bit of a nightmare trying to chip my standard ecu, had to un-solder the old chip which was a real pain. ended up with part of the pcb not bieng connected, did a repair but cant get the car to run - the electrics ie relays & dash lights going haywire.
an expensive bugger up I think....!
anyway, dont suppose anyone has a spare ecu just lying around their parts bins?
or even any advice on whether its viable to try & get fixed somewhere like electronics specialist?
also, located another ecu locally but with different ecu number, whats the chance of this working, its from a '95, mine's a '93 ??????
