A8 numberplate help!
Discussion
Sorry if this is stupid question, but I'm having some trouble replacing the numberplate on my A8 with a personalised one. The numberplate isn't attached with screws or anything like that which I'm used to, but appears to be stuck on - anyone have any idea as to how to take it off without having to take it to a garage?
Its just stuck on with some really sticky double sided foam pads.
Just pull it and it should come away. However it will leave half the foam pad on the car. This can be removed using a small amount of petrol and plenty of elbow grease.
New pads can be bought from Halfrauds for about £2/pack.

Or you could just pull the plates off and stick the new ones on like any normal male.

Plus the tape needs re-newing to create a good firm fix.
Take it you haven't had to do this job.
Or if you have, I could have got your help & saved me breaking the odd precious nail
