Earlier versionS are going for around £3-3500k now, I really fancy one for a bit of cheap hoonery for while.

My bro has the full fat Cupra R and that has impressed me lots.

What should I look out for, anything specific with them ?

TIA

Water in the passenger side footwell.

Great if you fancy growing cress. A royal PITA to sort out. Sealing round the pollen filter to bulkhead and also the door shedder and door drainage. SEAT sorted it on later ones - your kind of budget will buy you an early one.

check www.seatcupra.net. Loads of barrys on here, but also some great advice.

In addition to the damp patch due to the Pollen Filter Housing check the fans turn slowly when the A/C is switched on and don't pulse on and off meaning new fans are required which can cost between £300 - £500.

Other common failures on Leons are;
- Coilpacks (misfiring)
- Clutch Slave Cylinder (clutch pedal not returning)
- Coolant Sensor (engine management light on)
