Does anyone have any experience of owning/driving Audi/VW transverse engined 4WD drives with the Haldex 2nd generation Performance-Part (HPP) fitted?
I have a S3 (8P) and am interested to know if this is a worthwhile upgrade. From what I've read the HPP inproves handling by more aggressively diverting torque to the rear, but I'd like to hear any PH'ers real world experiences before spending my hard earned!

Cuprabob is right. TSN has much more info on this, but here's my thoughts:
I have a MK IV R32 & the HPP was the first mod I had done to it. Since then I have had an air induction kit, Milltek, partial remap and front brake upgrade too. I blame TSN for all this...
The HPP is just a control module for the Haldex clutch. It speeds up the reaction time of the clutch pack, giving much improved balance in the corners and reducing understeer considerably. It made a huge difference to my R32!
It cost me about £500 plus 1/2 hr labour for fitting. You will really need the hands of a child & an inspection ramp/pit to fit it yourself! PM me if you want detailed instructions on how to fit it.
Do check on the A3/S3 forum on Tyresmoke though - your S3 may already have a good Haldex controller & the switchable Gen II controller might be more suitable for you.
You will never eliminate understeer on a Haldex transmission. Or any VAG car for that matter - even a Torsen quattro/4 Motion system. The Haldex is based on full time front wheel drive (with it's associated understeer) with the Haldex clutch engaging the rear wheels as necessary.

Give the chaps at APS a shout they have it fitted to one of their cars albeit a MKV R32 with a few other toys fitted... www.autops.co.uk
I have the GEN 1 Performance Controller on my R32, it changed the power distribution for the better and in my opinion safer...some good reports on here
