Considering a Leon Cupra R (prob circa 2003-4 model) having previously owned a Leon Cupra TDi and been quite impressed with it.

However, I wasn't particularly impressed with the seats. Not as supportive as my prev car (Focus ST170 with the optional Recaros) and occasionally gave me backache.

I know that there is a Recaro option on the Cupra R. My question is twofold:

1) Are the standard Cupra R seats the same as the standard Cupra seats?

2) Has anybody got any experience of the optional seats - are they worth the extra?

Cheers

When the Cupra R came out, late 2002, there was an option of a full set of Recaro seats, both front and back. Easily identified because the rear seats look like 2 individual bucket seats. Also the front seats have Recaro embossed in white under the embossed R logo. I was lucky enough to have one of these as they are like hen's teeth to get now.

They then done away with the Recaro rear seats and only offer the front Recaro seats as an option. Should be plenty of these around.

To be honest the standard seats in a Cupra R are pretty good and supportive.

If you need to know anything else, just let me know. Plent of info. at www.seatcupra.net

from my experience i had an evo iv with standard recaro seats which were awsome,
then i got my supra also with custom recaro seats also awsome,
and now i have bought my seat leon cupra-r, without the recaro upgrade, but the standard seats are really good i would not pay any more for an upgrade as the standard ones give the correct support that you need and when you are on the back roads at high speed they keep you tucked in nice and tight.
hope this helps.
