As my elderly XR4x4 looks to be entering that phase of it's life where welding bills become the major expense, I have been looking around for a replacement. I would love a B5 S4 biturbo, but the money just isn't going to be there, so next best would seem to be an A4 2.8 Quattro 30v. Black leather, HIDs and TV (yeah, I know...) are on my list of nice-to-haves, so that is probably going to be 2000 or more recent. Must be manual, and not too much over 100,000 miles. I don't care how much people say "oh 100,000 is nothing on these", it is 20,000 miles closer to big bills than an 80,000 miler. Anyway, this has entailed much browsing of Ebay, Autotrader and PH classifieds (such hardships I have to endure).

I have seen this one come up at least 3 times on Ebay, and once on Autotrader (alas, I didn't keep details). I have also seen bids on it before. The RAC registration checker comes up with the right car, but the online insurance checker believes it to be uninsured.

It seems a nice, relatively recent motor with full service history. The seller seems to have a genuine reason for sale and has listed it's faults. What I don't understand though, is why it has been advertised so many times and yet has not sold. Maybe in these days of stupid taxes, people are just not buying petrol Audis any more, and £2700 is too much for an 8 year old car?

Any opinions before I but this out to the heathen mob on General Gassing?

While I am on the subject: Dear God, no...

So nice of them to copy the stuff from the first advert!

£100 payable by paypal at auction closing, remainder on collection.

I will accept cash or bankers draft only.

I will not except foreign currency/your wife/children or a villa in the south of France so don't offer.

What a truly awful exhaust. First car looks OK.

Seems very expensive to me... Just sold a very clean, 80,000 mile car we took as a part exchange for £1000.

Hmm thanks chaps. A grand for a 2000/W 2.8 quattro seems mighty cheap! What was wrong with it?
