Whats a cheap RS4??

Chap near to me has an RS4 - think it is an 06 plate? Apparently he was offered low 30s for it by his Audi dealer. What are these cars going for ? Are the hard to sell on privately?

That sounds like high miles/poor condition ... depends on spec as well .... look at the ads here or Autotrader

The prices will firm, as there are no more RS4's .... RS6's is about to hit the streets £77k+

Depends on mileage and spec - if that's a Misano red car with 30,000 miles and no tech pack he should bit their arm off for that offer! On the other hand, if it's done 5,000 miles in Phantom black with all the toys...

Odd cars to sell privately, owing to the value most people prefer the security of a dealer.

What with the price of fuel & recent ved changes, not to mention competition from C class and M3, credit crunch etc...I would be amazed, like every other new high perfromance car, prices are clearly going one way. Thankfully enough customers bought these new for those of us potential buyers in waiting.

Prices haven't really moved over the last 6 months - the favourite colour and spec combinations with low mileages are in as high demand now as they were when still in production. Obviously, you can't have a new one so they're making very good money still.

Phantom black Avants, sprint blue saloons and absolutely anything under 40 grand are selling like hotcakes.

If it's around 10k low then it would probably retail at 42-43 (more at a main dealer) with trade bids around 37-38 being on the money. Main dealer will want to take 7 or 8 grand margin out of an RS4 still.

Just traded in a sprint blue March 06 with 18k miles, good nick, but couple of wheels needing refurbed. Sat Nav, bluetooth and 6 CD changer(?think that was) extra £37.5k against R8.

It's amazing how the prices of these have firmed up over the last 6 months. At one point I was hoping to pick up one of these around now for about £35k, but not a chance. Got a Cayman S instead so not that gutted

We've done a couple of 30,000 mile cars at £37,995 but I can't see them going lower than that any time soon. Demand is still very strong indeed.

Why the surprise? Not many made (about 1000 uk cars apparently covering all 3 body styles), very highly rated by reviewers and the B5 RS4 held its value superbly well too
