Just gone onto a car valuation site and had the below output, your asking price is near on double the Excellent condition part x price - also it has been modified which adds zero value above a std model it only reduces the potential market as most people do not want to buy a modified car - especially along with the subtle slang you use!! :P

But the price you quote is twice the going rate for an immaculate example i.e. 12 months MOT 12 months road tax full Seat service history and that being just been serviced.
This car when new cost you only £14k so come off it you seriously think a 2001 car yes thats 7 years old now & by Sept will be 8 years old has lost only 53%.... get real man even the Mini Cooper S when they first came out were lucky to retain that much after 3 years. This car didnt go down too well in the press at the time due to being over priced and the chassis wasnt that good the recommendation was to buy the cheaper & better Ren Sport 172.
Pleas state why you believe that your car which is near on 8 years old is worth the same as a 54/05 reg Ibiza Cupra?
If your intent on getting that price Im afraid your going to be waiting a VERY long time for a mug to come along to buy as that is one of the most over priced cars Ive see in a very long time.
To the O/P - your car is NOT a Cupra 'R' as you state, if after all that work its only putting out 200bhp.
The Cupra R ph1 had 210bhp, the ph2 had 225bhp.
The Cupra standard had 150bhp, going up to 180 for the ph2.
Therefore the valuation Welshbeef has given is probably correct.
Also, adding lots of 'tuning' parts will often actually decrease the value of your car, not increase it.

200bhp & 265ftlb.... well all hot hatches today have >200bhp
COme to think about it is this guy thinks its not for the faint hearted then the BMW 123d surely will blow his mind it has 4bhp over his "woz done not proven" figs and a nice 39ftlbs over his.
Ive driven the 123d and yes its a fast (ish) fun car, I wouldnt say it VERY quick as its only 16 seconds to the 100mph it does 155mph so I guess you could say that its Very quick at those speeds however to me a Very quick car is an 11 second car to the 100mph. hot hatches yes a fast but even when your really nailing them you never get the "wooow thats really fast/scary fast" feeling when giving them the beans.

Again to the O/P - i do apologise, i didn't read your post properly.The Cupra R ph1 had 210bhp, the ph2 had 225bhp.

I saw Cupra R and thought Leon. Yours is an Ibiza. I don't know about their values, so i'll keep my big gob shut from now on!

I tell you what! For all you that are taking the piss why not come and have a look at my car, i'll even take you out in it if you want.
For all you that don't know there was only 250 of the ibiza cupra R made in 2001 would wide and only 75 came to england, that makes it very rare even if i say so myself.
here's just a few cars that i have had races with:
SEAT IBIZA CUPRA R VS BMW M3 E46= IBIZA WIN
" " VS EVO 8= IBIZA WIN
" " VS RX7= IBIZA WIN
I could go on all night about what cars i've been up against but i've got nothing to prove.

Geesh calm down already.
The cupra r is a great car my friend has a black one and its awsome beats all my cars hands down.
But tbh you are asking to much for it. I know they are rare but if you want to sell it you still have to make it affordable.
Just a hint of parkers estimate values (i know parkers is not spot on but its not 3k out now)
SEAT Ibiza (99-02) 1. 1.8 20V T Cupra R 3d Change

3. Average mileage: 70,000 miles Change
Original Price £17,990
Franchised Dealer £4,270
Independent Dealer £4,020
Private Good £3,455
Private Poor £2,645
Part Exchange £2,955

Remember the BMW M5 Nurembourg edition only 50 RHD ever made cost around £50k new however they are now available on the open market for around the £6-8k mark, these are N reg cars so 1994/95.
This car has retained 12% of its value over 12 years and it is rarer than your Ibiza and one would say much more desirable.
So your car is a 2001 and is now 7.5 years old - if we assume the same rate of loss % wise as the rarer M5 Nurembourg then it should have retained 55% of its value which would mean it would be worth £9,800 which it is not - thus its certainly not as rare/desirable.
Also worth noting in Autoexpress yesterday they have stated that in the used car market in the month of May08 alone they are expecting a 3% accross the board reduction in price - due to the credit crunch. So lets say you had put it up for £6.5k you really now need to reduce the price by £195.

Your car would need to have a lot more done to it (bigger turbo etc) to even keep up with an e46 M3 never mind be quicker than it.For all you that don't know there was only 250 of the ibiza cupra R made in 2001 would wide and only 75 came to england, that makes it very rare even if i say so myself.

So maybe that driver either didnt even think it was a race just pulling away steadily, had a very sick car, decided not to rev beyond 3,500rpm, missed gears a few times on the up change.
However clearly you should have realised that firstly as its RWD on the launch (ignoring any giving up factor etc by him) he would have had a few car lengths jump if he didnt then he wasnt trying one bit.
Also one other thing to consider - why would the owner of a £45k car bother wasting his time "racing" agaist a city car that unless he knew cost £18k would be around the £10-12k mark.
Not the same ball park - in fact not even the same game.
