A3 instrument check

Does anyone know how to do a check of the instrument binnacle in an A3, in a similar way to this?

Can only do it via an Audi output test on there diagnostic machines.

A Snap-on scanner will do this,even a simple one(mt2500)most garages have these.
With some cars it`s just a case of pressing instr. panel buttons in a certain sequence.
